is Assistant Director in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund and has been responsible for the department’s work on monetary and exchange rate policy since 2006. Prior to his current assignment, he managed the IMF’s monetary and financial sector technical assistance in the Asia-Pacific region. He has published on a wide range of economic topics. Dr. Habermeier holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and a Diploma from the University of Bonn.
