Robert M. Dunn Jr., professor emeritus of economics, died on Feb. 18. Dr. Dunn retired from GW in 2009 after more than 40 years on the university’s economics faculty. At GW, he taught microeconomics principles, macroeconomics principles and international trade and finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. An expert in international trade and finance, Dr. Dunn authored and co-authored numerous publications, including the textbook “International Economics,” which is now in its sixth edition from Routledge Publishing; articles in the “Journal of Political Economy,” “Princeton Essays in International Finance” and “Foreign Affairs,” among others; and wrote 39 columns for The Washington Post and nine op-ed columns for The New York Times. Dr. Dunn received his undergraduate degree in political economy from Williams College and a master’s degree and doctorate in economics from Stanford University.
